Transfer RNA

From Eterna Wiki

(Redirected from TRNA)

Transfer RNA (also known as tRNA) is a type of RNA important for translation and thus protein synthesis.

Each tRNA has an anticodon that matches with the codon on the messenger RNA (mRNA). Each tRNA is loaded with a particular amino acid - thus, each codon in the mRNA will ultimately correspond with a specific amino acid.

The ribosome has specific binding sites for RNA, which are utilized during translation.
