Stack

A stack is a region that contains one or more base pairs. Stacks derive their name from the stacking interaction that occurs between consecutive base pairs.

==Isolated Base Pairs==

A stack of length 1 is an isolated base pair. It is flanked on either side by a loop. In the image to the right, stack 2 is an isolated base pair.
